Responsible for the daily operations of the Auto Hobby Shop to ensure economic and efficient operations. Monitors self-directed programs and functions within the facility for safety and to ensure materials and resources are available, and customer satisfaction is being met. Monitors safety and cleanliness standards. Determines type and quantity of expendable and non-expendable materials, equipment and supplies required to conduct an automotive repair program and budgets for, and purchases, these materials as necessary. Accounts for monies collected. Assists customers and arranges instructional courses in automotive mechanics, enrolls students and maintains records. Performs periodic inventory and submits activity reports and other reports as required. Maintains order, reports injuries, prepares and distributes publicity for the Auto Hobby Shop and maintains security of its facilities and personnel. Selects employees and assigns work according to abilities and reviews completed work and provides training as necessary. Initiates actions on promotions, awards, employment, terminations, performance ratings and other related personnel actions. Counsels personnel on their duties and evaluates performance. Serves as the equipment custodian for the Auto Hobby Shop. Orders all required supplies and equipment, fills out and submits various supply requisitions, purchase orders, contract repair services and repair cycle forms. Serves as the HAZMAT and accumulation point manager, and ECAMP monitor. Maintains appropriate bench stock items to ensure a quick turnaround on broken equipment. Analyzes financial results, plans, and coordinates future upgrades on the 5-year plan and NAF Requirements Budget (NRB). Responsible for all FSS NAF vehicles to include maintenance, repairs and submitting reports to higher HQ monthly. Manages the resale lot; assigns spaces, collects monies, ensure cleanliness of the area and notifies individuals delinquent on payment, as well as completing all actions required to resolve issues.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience with administrative, professional, or technical work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and progressively responsible experience in one or more functions managed by an automotive supervisor. Must have specialized experience in an automotive skills center with supervision over various phases of automotive mechanics to include diagnostics and repair which provides in-depth knowledge of automotive, service procedures, rules and regulations. Knowledge of automotive mechanics including the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair/correct problems. Must be able to use a wide variety of automotive tools, read and interpret parts manuals, schematics and manufacturer's repair manuals. Community/technical college certification in the automotive field highly desired. Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds.
