Duties

Help
  • You will issue appropriate decals; provide advice and assistance to retired and active duty personnel, civilian and contract employees, vendors and others inquiring about regulations and requirements.
  • You will review. process and issue applications for requests for vehicle registrations, privately owned weapons registrations and bicycle registrations.
  • You will maintain account of vehicle registration decals issued on-hand.
  • Prepare statistical reports, charts, and graphs pertaining to vehicle registrations and traffic violation data.
  • You will process and de-register weapons and vehicles; destroy weapon registration cards.

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Must be 18 years of age. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. The incumbent must ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Work regularly includes assignment to a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and standards; properly use all required safety equipment and safe work place procedures; report all observed workplace hazards; report any injury, occupational illness, or property damage to supervisor.

Qualifications

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing clerical work related to the processing of vehicle, motorcycle, pet, bike, or weapon registrations; AND providing temporary passes for visitors entering an installation.

GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education. Education obtained must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education, applicant must possess:

GS-05: Successfully completed four years of education above the High School level.

GS-04 Successfully completed at least two full academic years of education above high school

OR a combination of experience and education as described that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

** This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
