Duties

Help

  • Assists a higher graded repairer in the installation, replacement, maintenance, adjustments and repairs of electronic pinsetter machines, ball returns, overhead score projectors, fouls units, ball cleaners and related equipment. Performs routine general maintenance and repair of all lanes, lane machines and related equipment. Assists in lane repair when leveling, sanding, coating kickbacks, or leveling of pit flat gutters are required. Performs a productive schedule of preventative maintenance on all related machinery and equipment. 

  • Replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical components or parts using soldering irons, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools. Cleans and lubricates ball returns, score projectors and related machines. Records repair parts usage, maintain various records including machine malfunction reports and meter readings. Performs routine custodial and other duties in Bowling Center as required. 

  • Monitors status of patrons, allowing only authorized patrons and their guests to use the Bowling Center. Assist patrons with lane assignments, shoes, selecting house balls as needed. Provides directions on use of the bowling scoring equipment as needed. Completes transactions using the Brunswick System. Assists foods service workers as needed in set up of snack bar. Prepares the lanes for leagues or recreational bowling. 

  • Answers telephone inquiries, take reservations as needed. Verifies the Daily Activity Report to include pin spotting machine readings, completed by the Cashier. Enter the register tape reading on the report in accordance with the SOP. Handles all patron complaints and reports all incidents to the Manager. Ensure that all the facility is always maintained in an excellent state of cleanliness. Completes the fire checklist prior to securing. Properly secures the Bowling Center at the end of the day. May open or close the Bowling Center.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

SKJLLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment and other tools and devices associated with the maintenance and repair of Bowling Center equipment. Skills to use common cleaning materials and equipment and to safely operate and adjust bowling equipment. Skill to read and understand manufacturer's service manuals. 

RESPONSIBILITY: Must be self-motivated to take appropriate action in ensuring proper patron service is provided by all bowling and related equipment. Completes work assignments with minimal supervision. 

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent stooping, bending, lifting, climbing, standing and walking. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Works with rapid effort during breakdown of machinery. Normal effort is required at other times. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires working in cramped and confined spaces often in a supine position. Works in places not conducive to normal sight and touch conditions. At times performs routine duties alone or with little or no assistance. Exposed to dust, lint, dirt and excessively high noise level. Majority of jobs are performed indoors in well-ventilated buildings, however, when required, some work may be performed outside.
