This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER TITLE 32 INDEFINITE, Position Description Number D1867000and is part of the 157th Operations Group, New Hampshire Air National Guard.

The position provides diagnostic, analytical, calibration, investigative research, troubleshooting, in-depth inspections, quality control inspections, certification, testing, evaluation, and maintenance or overhaul of all Aircrew Flight Equipment and aircrew chemical defense equipment. Provides formal academic classroom and technical instruction to all pilots/aircrew on all initial and continuation instruction to ensure aircrew survival ability under peacetime or combat operations. Responds and participates as an Air Force aircraft mishap board representative in investigating flight support equipment failures/malfunctions associated with mishaps.

This is an INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required PRIOR to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential. Work involved in the inspection, maintenance, and adjustment of aircrew life support equipment. Workers are required to maintain appropriate accountability documentation of life support equipment. Work also involves continuation training to aircrews in the use of aircrew life support equipment.
It is not necessary for applicants to possess the MOS/AFSC listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however applicant must meet the qualifications for the position. It is applicant's responsibility to acquire a compatible MOS/AFSC within 1 year of appointment. This is a Indefinite/Temporary appointment, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Current Technicians selected will retain the appointment status currently in, (i.e., Permanent or Indef) and will be placed on a temporary promotion or appropriate personnel action if selected for this position. Area II or Area III will be appointed Indefinite/Temporary status. Conversion to permanent status may be accomplished when permanent funding is approved.
