WHO MAY APPLY: All qualified permanent and indefinite Title 5 National Guard employees who are currently working for the Directorate of Logistics in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Duties

Help
  • Formulates and implements the comprehensive logistics support plans, policies and logistics operations support.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements policies, procedures and requirements for unit deployment, inter-service support agreements.
  • Responsible for operation of the logistics operations center to support STARC Emergency Operations Center for Federal and State missions.
  • Obtains data from the Unit Status Report and the Material Readiness Report to determine and improve logistics readiness.
  • Consolidates all logistics readiness indicators to formulate an assessment of the command logistics readiness of the state.
  • Develops the Equipment on Hand policy that directs the supply and services officer (DOL) to initiate equipment redistribution actions within the command.
  • Develops, staffs and implements logistics plans for material fielding, mission support and mobilization.
  • Develops command requirements for new equipment training.
  • Analyzes, directs and provides command logistics guidance to support CTA/TDA/MTOE changes and turn-in of command excess equipment to the USPFO.
  • Serves as the Information Systems/Automation Security Officer, Physical Security Officer and Safety Officer for the directorate, providing technical oversight throughout the shops and activities of the program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
  • Position is subject to the provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Appointments of retired members of the Armed Forces as National Guard employees within 180 days of retirement requires a waiver approved by the Adjutant General of Missouri before an effective date can be established.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level that provided experience planning, reviewing, revising and overseeing supply programs; the ability to develop, interpret and advise others on the overall supply function; extensive administrative, regulatory, or other work experience in conducting and analyzing surveys and studies related to supply work; and progressive knowledge and ability to manage overall programs for supply operations.

Education

SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education.
