Duties

Help

Performs a substantial amount of time on mechanical maintenance work and repair, is frequently engaged in equipment maintenance repair and inventory; receives, assigns and conducts preventive maintenance and repair work performed on equipment maintains the parts inventory system; files work orders and maintenance/repair history on all equipment for reference purposes; orders all parts; carries out preventive maintenance and repair work on a daily basis; performs difficult and complex repairs; ensures shop cleanliness and maintenance; orders supplies for shop; prepares reports and records on an ongoing basis; trains and instructs subordinate personnel on the operation of equipment; operates equipment as required.

Computer use, record keeping and purchasing with Government Purchase Card, lBPS, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA). Assist in planning the daily activities for all maintenance crew members, laying out and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, bridges, paths, landscape beds, roads, and water courses; schedules work and supervises staff members. Coordinates and performs the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation and drainage systems; may modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation; keep inventory and requisition supplies.

Schedules activities so that equipment will remain in proper operating condition. Responsible for implementing all depar1mental procedures and policies relative to golf course maintenance operations and safety. Provides input for operating and capital requirements in
order to meet mission requirements and effectively maintain the course and the equipment. Accounts or the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned employees to include hiring, promoting, motivating, disciplining, approving/disapproving leave, training, and separating employees.

Qualifying Experience:

Associates Degree in turf equipment maintenance from an accredited college or 2 years equivalent experience is required. Requires knowledge and understanding of how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course, knowledge of the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways and bunkers, knowledge of drainage and irrigation installation and maintenance md the systems associated within. knowledge of gasoline and
diesel equipment, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical system mechanics md repair methods, knowledge of parts. equipment and tools. knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Skill in performing repair work on golf course equipment and vehicles, working skill in
diagnosing defects and failures of equipment and tools of the trade, skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the
making of various types of mechanical repairs, and skill in scheduling and supervising employees.
Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.

Education
