Duties

Help
  • Establishes, maintains and develops financial controls to effectively manage Agency appropriated funds.
  • Develops program and budget estimates and other requirements for incorporation into the POM, BES, and President's Budget. Identifies actual and potential shortfalls or surpluses. Recommends reallocation of funds among elements of expense.
  • Uses the DoD Planning, Programming, and Budget System (PPBS) to develop, submit, support review and analyze program funding requirements.
  • Participates in conferences and discussions relating to resource requirements is and program planning and budgeting.
  • Participates in the development of briefing materials and other analytical data, which are used by the OSD and DISA Comptroller to support program justifications to Congress.

Qualifications

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Performing a wide range of complex financial operations using automated tools or financial systems; experience applying financial management regulations, policies, principles, or practices in order to analyze data, identify trends for management decision-making, or provide advice on financial management issues; or experience providing advice on accounting or financial management practices, methods, or procedures in the review and analysis of established regulations.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level
