Duties

Help

  • Checks on upcoming programs and tournaments at Eisenhower Golf Club daily.
  • This recreation aid may perform all three duties detailed below at some point in time.
  • Monitors, maintains, and insures a steady pace of play in accordance with the established pace of play policy for each course.
  • Insures the safety of all golfers.
  • Insures that all players demonstrate proper golf etiquette by abiding by the rules of golf, e.g.; raking traps, replacing divots, repairing ball marks on the greens, etc.
  • Reports individuals who repeatedly disobey the course rules to the General Manager.
  • Surveys course conditions and advise the General Manager of areas requiring attention.
  • Coordinates with the tee master, starter, and golf shop as needed through means of communication by radio.
  • Insures that only authorized patrons and guests use the facility by checking current green fee tickets before allowing them to proceed to the number one tee.
  • Insures that all groups tee off on time.
  • Maintains a starter sheet entailing the date, course of play, member number, actual tee time, golf car number, and the number of players in the group.
  • Insures that all players are in accordance with the dress code policy.
  • Insures that each player has bis or her own set of golf clubs.
  • Coordinates with the tee master, course monitor, and golf shop as needed through means of communication by radio.
  • Greets all customers arriving at the Eisenhower Golf Club.
  • Maintains a list of the reserved tee times by checking in patrons playing golf.
  • Maintains a waiting list of play for patrons not having a reserved tee time.
  • Directs patrons into the clubhouse.
  • Coordinates with the course monitor, starter, and golf shop as needed through means of communication by radio.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Knowledge of the etiquette and rules of golf are required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English, and have skill in dealing with the public.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer experience.
  • Must have the ability to operate n motor vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to work outdoors in the heat, wind, dust and other weather related conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and endure riding a golf cart over the terrain for a 6 hour period.
  • Duties are subject to an uncommon tour of duty such weekends.
  • Position is subject to furlough from 1 November to 31 March.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
