Duties

Help

Duty 1: Assists in developing local Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) programs and policies for the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Planner and the Antiterrorism Officer's approval.

Duty 2: Coordinates on force protection processes, assessments, and activities across the installation on behalf of the AT/FP Planner and the installation ATO.

Duty 3: Assists with site security studies, projects, assessments, and training activities in relationship to antiterrorism and force protection requirements.

  • This position requires a Department of Defense Security Professional Certification. The DoD Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD.
  • This is a Mission Essential position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include applying knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. Knowledge in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization. Knowledge of how to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Practical knowledge of commonly applied security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve moderately complex security problems.

2. Knowledge of DoD and Air Force antiterrorism and force protection doctrine, policies, and instructions to coordinate objectives and develop plans for interrelated security programs.

3. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships to make recommendations allowing for differing program requirements, and multiple security objectives.

4. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting information to leadership.

5. Ability to prioritize and recommend resourcing strategies for the correction or mitigation of AT vulnerabilities on the installation.

6. Ability to assist evaluation teams in developing realistic and relevant scenarios to exercise and validate the AT program.

This position is designated a national security position.
Perform duties as directed by 21 SFS Deputy Director and Commander.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

AcqDemo Expanded Probationary Period for Supervisors and Managers: An additional supervisory probationary period of one year may be required when an employee is officially assigned to a different supervisory position.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-02 equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-11.
