Duties

Help
  • Establish priorities and deadlines for special projects and coordinate plans with other elements of the installation as well as subordinate supervisors.
  • Determine a method of accomplishing complicated non-routine tasks without specific precedents or guidelines.
  • Manage, plan, program, and allocate resources for, and direct, coordinate and evaluate a wide range of logistics related functions of unique and non-standard ammunition and components.
  • Utilize knowledge of non-standard ammunition and production to advise outside agencies of efficiency to be gained and streamline their production and maintenance lines.
  • Develop and evaluate the work performance standards of subordinate employees.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

  • Perform strategic and long-range planning on phases of ammunition supply operations;
  • Resolve quality control issues regarding the transportation, storage, and environmental requirements of munitions;
  • Develop supply guidance and regulations for a diverse munition supply program operation; and
  • Distribute/shift work to meet critical mission deadlines
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
