Duties

Help
  • Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders.
  • Involves setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holiday events.
  • This is a flexible position that there are no guaranteed hours. Must be willing to serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Required to be available for Community Events that Business Operations Division supports. The events include, but not limited to, Oktoberfest, Freedom Fest, Children’s Fest, and Winterfest. Other duties as assigned.
  • Stands, walks and stoops and stretches, for long periods of time, handling food and beverage trays and good containers, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds.

  • Must be able to follow simple oral and / or written instructions
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2
  • Will work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation. Danger of slipping on we or polished floors. May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must meet the state/local age (21) requirement for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
  • No prior training or work experience required.
  • Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions


In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

Possess at least six months of experience working in a bar, restaurant, or catering.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
