Under the direction of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant assists in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing programs for the 86th Force Support Squadron.

Under the direction of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant assists in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing programs for the 86th Force Support Squadron.

Under the direction of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant assists in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing programs for the 86th Force Support Squadron. The employee identifies relevant new strategies, emerging trends, and technologies to increase customer engagement and create brand exposure across all media forums.
Key responsibilities include: Marketing & Communication Strategy: Assists in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective methods for reaching target markets. Makes recommendations to activity managers on appropriate media mixes, advertising design, and plans marketing campaigns to enhance participation in squadron activities.
Market Research & Analysis: Assists in conducting both qualitative and quantitative market research. Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses, and analyzes results to identify consumer trends and inform program modifications.
Digital Media & Online Presence: Maintains and expands marketing outreach on current and future digital platforms. Conducts routine checks and updates for the 86 FSS website, including calendar entries and facility details. Manages online channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, and others in the absence of the Social Media Specialist. Assists with graphic designs for facilities and the e-magazine.
Ticketing and Internal Systems: Maintains the 86 FSS ticketing system used to communicate with squadron leadership and managers. Processes tasks within the internal ticket system as part of Marketing Assistant duties.
Public Relations & Events: Provides support as needed for all special events. Assists with public briefings, speaks on air, and hosts weekly AFN radio spots to promote 86 FSS events. Attends major squadron events to provide constructive marketing feedback and provides or arranges photographic/videography support as required.
Production & Administrative Support: Assists with Production Clerk duties, including creating event calendar entries, printing, mounting, lamination, binding, and cutting. Also assists with general duties such as customer service, purchasing card tasks, managing marketing inventory, and using systems like AFRIMS, SAIS, and IBPS as needed.
General Duties: Prepares and presents briefings for base functions like Newcomers Orientation and Commander's Call. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work on nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
