Duties

Help

The position is established to serve as a working leader over three or more technicians on the evening shift. Passes on to workers assigned to the evening shift instructions received from the supervisor. Advises the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delay, and overall work operations, problems, and individual performance. Works along with the other technicians in setting the pace and performing nonsupervisory work of the Pneudraulic Function: (a) Performs maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. (b) Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft pneudraulic systems. (c) Performs organizational and field level maintenance to include periodic, phase, time,
calendar, unscheduled, and special inspection. (d) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG
and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must hold the grade of E-6 thru E-6.

  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • To be eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that’s a 3 or higher.
  • Relocation Incentive is available for only current federal employees. Will need a current appraisal in good standing.
  • Recruitment Incentive is for employees newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-6

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. Resume must be two pages or less.

3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience.

4. If education or a degree is required as part of the "Specialized Experience", you must include transcripts.

You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
Experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles.
Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines.
Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts.
Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies.
Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment.
Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.

Must have experience in the following:
Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series.
Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment.

Relocation and Recruitment IncentivesEligibility:

  • Recruitment-Employee newly appointedto a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.
  • Relocation-Current employee who relocates to accept a position in a new geographic area. If you are eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher.

Payments: Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay as of the beginning of the service period (includes locality pay/special rate supplement) multiplied by number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement. Subject to availability of funds and must be approved by TAG.


Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.

Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions or termination of their employment.
11. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved. In the event the MCR is not approved, they are accepting the position in their current status.
