Summary

You will serve as the Deputy Director in the Navy Cryptologic Office in Fort Meade, MD. As the principal advisor to the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service-level Director, you will deliver critical representational impact connecting and informing the width and breadth of a three star-level Flag Officer staff in the Commander's role as the force provider for Navy Signals Intelligence and Cybersecurity manpower, personnel, training, and equipping issues.

Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the principal advisor to the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service (DISES)-level Director and serve as the director in his/her absence.
  • You will facilitate technical control of Navy cryptologic elements to ensure optimal application of resources, synchronization of missions, and compliance with applicable guidance.
  • You will represent the Navy Service Cryptologic Component in executive level meetings and working groups as well as integrated project teams.
  • You will advocate on behalf of U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet for the satisfaction of Maritime and Joint Forces Commander's information and resource needs.
  • You will provide authoritative advice and commitment authority on boards, panels, and committees as the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet’s representative.
  • You will ensure that the Navy cryptologic warfare community is cognizant of changes to National Security Agency/Central Security Service operations, processes, and policies.
  • You will direct task definition, prioritization, and execution as the immediate supervisor of the Navy Cryptologic Office’s combined military and civilian staff.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer.
  • Travel or temporary onsite assignments may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-14) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as:

1. Direct task definition, prioritization, and execution as the immediate supervisor for combined military and civilian staff.
2. Advise leadership on mission execution, ensure optimal resource use and compliance, and articulate the office's interests to national security organizations.
3. Provide support and representation of the Commander's priorities and strategy in executive-level meetings and intelligence community forums.
4. Shape Signals Intelligence policy and integrate the component into agency processes, direct technical control of cryptologic resources to synchronize missions.
5. Advocate for joint force commander needs and a modern cryptologic architecture, provide Navy input to corporate planning and budgeting, and facilitate technical control of cryptologic elements to optimize resources and synchronize missions.
