Duties

Help
  • Act as the principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for the Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program and victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and associated retaliatory behaviors for the Commander.
  • Manage a Corps level SHARP Program servicing Soldiers and Family members, as well as Department of Army Civilians.
  • Administer the SHARP program to maintain a workplace environment that rejects sexual harassment and sexual assault and attitudes that promote such behaviors.
  • Formulate Command SHARP directives, prevention, education, and SHARP reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee, manage, and establish procedural guidance for the SHARP hotline.
  • Support the commander with prevention activities, response coordination, case management, victim advocacy and training management.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require background checks to be conducted against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulation.
  • Incumbent is required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors and security office.
  • This position requires the incumbent to attend and graduate from all required SHARP training courses within six (6) months of employment.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) and up-to-date commander appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • The duties of this position may require the incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days to execute position responsibilities based on the needs of the organization.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing and directing installation/executive levelprogram activities that emphasize prevention of sexual harassment/assault and victim advocacy; and 2) developing sexual harassment/assault policy and guidelines to achieve program objectives; and 3) providing technical advice on sexual harassment/assault to management and program support personnel; and 4) analyzing program data to identify trends or areas for improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
