Help
  • Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the WHMO Special Access Program (SAP) Branch ensuring the administration, deployment and enforcement of a comprehensive special access security program.
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures for the accomplishment of special access functions. Areas of responsibility include information, personnel, industrial, physical and network systems security.
  • Identifies security deficiencies, analyzes major problems, special access program mission vulnerabilities, security impacts to mission assurance, and convergence difficulties involving all security disciplines.

  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) is required.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-13) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in demonstrating proficiency in establishing and implementing policies and procedures to support specialized security functions such as developing security policies, managing inspection programs, OR evaluating and mitigating risks.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-13 or higher grade in Federal Service.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level

  • As a condition of employment, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which we'll evaluate whether your continued employment advances the public interest. The evaluation will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment advances agency or governmental goals; and whether your continued employment advances the efficiency of the Federal service. At the end of the probationary period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification that your continued employment advances the public interest.

  • Incumbent shall obtain and maintain a current Top Secret (TS) security clearance based upon a T5 Background Investigation and be eligible for access to TS/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Prior to reporting for duty, the incumbent must be approved for Presidential Support Duty (PSD) in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (PSD Category II, minimum). Prior to selection, the applicant must be pre-screened for PSD suitability. The applicant must obtain and maintain PSD approval to remain eligible to hold the position.

  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
