If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team serving as the district Information Technology (IT) Manager responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving three or more IT specialty areas which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's office (USAO). The USAO IT environment includes personal computers, routers, switches, bridges, a wide area network and local area network, operating systems, case management systems and litigation support operations.

Duties include:

- IT Systems/Network Administration - Maintains district-wide responsibility for testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance and management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. Ensures systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.

- Systems Security - Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

- Internet - Plans, designs, develops, tests, implements and manages internet, intranet, and extranet activities, including technical management of websites.

- Litigation Support Services - Plans, creates and coordinates litigation support services (including trial preparation and presentation) in response to customer needs. Performs such services directly or in conjunction with the district's designated "Litigation Support Coordinator."

- Customer Support - Provides customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting. customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements.

- Policy and Planning - Within parameters of component-wide guidance and directives, performs IT planning and policy activities focusing on USAO needs and requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess and demonstrate in their application packages that they meet the requirements in section 1 and 2 below:

1. Basic Requirement

Information Technology experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving.

2. Specialized Experience

To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Supporting day-to-day operations of a United States Attorney's Office IT system; (2) Planning and improving information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; (3) Analyzing, developing, and supporting an e-Litigation program providing technical and strategic advice on litigation technology applications to meet e-Litigation objectives; and, (4) Possessing strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral).
