This National Guard position is for a NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER(TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2320000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
As a Nondestructive Tester, WG-3705-10, you will determine test method, and prepare fluid and part for nondestructive inspection. Interprets nondestructive inspection test results, and provides information about defects to repair center. Performs Oil Spectrometry process and analyzes wear metal content on engine lubricating oil and other fluids, and recommends corrective action. Establishes radiation areas for radiographic operations. Computes and monitors personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitors personnel exposure data. Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detects flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, Thermography, Shearography and ultrasonic test equipment. Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. May also serve as Alternate TMDE Monitor, PCAMS, Alternate Equipment Custodian, Alternate Supplies Manager, Alternate Hazardous Waste Monitor, Alternate Hazardous Communication Monitor, Alternate Spill Prevention Monitor, Alternate FOD Monitor, Alternate Radiation Monitor, Alternate Technical Order Monitor, Alternate Precious Metals Monitor, and Training Monitor.
Physical Effort: Prolonged standing, frequent lifting of parts and materials weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance of lifting devices or other workers is required. Both hands and good eyesight required. Work requires stooping, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing in, on, or through aircraft with equipment.
Working Conditions: Works indoors and outdoors. May work in inclement weather on icy, wet, hot, and slippery ramps, work stands, ladders, and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to the dangers of toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating aircraft surfaces such as speed brakes, flaps, and landing gear, engine noise, heat blast, and intake suction. The Technician may be subject to dangers of high voltage, chemicals, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, paints, solvents, propeller hazard, confined space, x-ray radiation, and explosive and chemical munitions processing operations.
Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG10 Must have at least 1 year of specialized experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws; experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies, and recommending courses of action for items of equipment; experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority; experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.
