This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T59024P1 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard.

This position is open to all on-board (permanent, temporary, indefinite) Title 5 and Title 32 NYNG employees, AGR/M-DAY/DSG within the NYNG, former members of the NYNG with a National Guard Bureau Form 22 or 22A showing an Honorable Discharge or a General Discharge Under Honorable characterization.
As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-12, you will manage, direct, develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics planning. Serves as the Logistics Officer/Specialist and provides administrative and technical oversight to a lower-graded specialist. This position is responsible for fully prepared, assigned unit personnel and equipment for Aerospace Expeditionary Force/Wing (AEF/AEW) Operations around the world.

May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Must have experience and ability to integrate the total logistics planning system of supply, maintenance, transportation, contracting, and operations. Must have the experience to utilize analytical and statistical methods and procedures including electronic data processing, AF operations and organizations, and fiscal management techniques; involved in the formulation of policies, procedures, and programs, facilities, personnel management, security, medical, administrative, comptroller, and legal activities. Must have experience managing, directing, developing, and implementing policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics Planning.
