Help
  • Senior regional logistician and Deputy Chief, Region Synchronization Operations Center (RSOC), DLA Europe and Africa.
  • Supervises a diverse staff consisting of Planners, Warfighter Support Representatives in the RSOC, DLA Liaison Officers, and various military component installations in the Area of Responsibility.
  • Ensures supplies, equipment, and services meet specific needs and resolves operational limitations impacting DLA’s logistical combat support mission.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in military, civilian, and Agency policies and regulations, focusing on joint planning and logistics operations.
  • Reviews and operationally defines DoD and other Federal agency policies, regulations, et. al, and how they impact logistical support inquiries.
  • Assists in the development and execution of war, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure their success and execution.

  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position. The incumbent may be required to report to work in the event of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or crisis.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Experience in material management concepts and programs, including organizational relationships, supply chains, policies, and process to develop and integrate supply and financial management objectives.
  • Expert knowledge of DoD and Federal agency/component policies and procedures to develop improved business practices among supply systems and other organizations.
  • Expert knowledge of Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to indoctrinate military leadership and maintain operational re

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Pay Retention will be extended to an eligible employee who applies through a formal recruitment program and is selected for a position at an overseas location.

Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.

If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for early intervention services (EIS) will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.

This is an Expeditionary Civilian (EC) position, and incumbent will be designated as (EE, NCE, etc.). In the event of a crisis situation, incumbent may be required to deploy via temporary reassignment or be required to stay in place to support contingency operations. Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position requires the incumbent to be screened from military recall. Military Reservists selected for an EC position must arrange for removal from the reserve component prior to appointment to an EC position. This requirement must be met prior to placement in an EC position. Positions identified as EE are subject to deployment to combat support situations. Deployment will be via Temporary Duty (TDY) orders. Deployment may entitle the employee to additional compensation dependent on the deployment location. Additional allocations are based on the Department of State's determination of a combat zone.

Ordinarily Resident is defined as a U.S. citizen who is locally resident; and has legal, permanent resident status within the host country; and is subject to host country employment and tax laws.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy: The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.

ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
