Help
  • Providing technical guidance over IT systems and applications.
  • Provides advice and assistance to customers to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
  • Reviews technical and design specifications to address customer requirements.
  • Provides technical support to customers who need assistance utilizing client level hardware and software.
  • Develops and manages customer performance requirements and customer support policies and procedures.
  • Serves on application implementation team to ensure that customer service requirements are addressed.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • Security clearances vary based on the position and location in which you are selected. Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, SCI, Yankee White Security Clearance, and/or a Polygraph examination
  • All positions on this vacancy require incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with or without access to SCI (dependent on the position of selection).
  • Yankee White: If applicable to position of selection, incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a Yankee White security clearance in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.87.
  • Polygraph: If applicable to the position of selection, Incumbent will be required to pass a polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.
  • This is a drug testing position.
  • This is a Key Position. This position cannot be vacated during an emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. For vacancies below the full-performance level of the position, the basic requirement will be evaluated on a developmental basis. Your resume and work experience should clearly support your ability to meet these competencies and will be evaluated as part of the entire application process.
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience leading work processes to meet customer needs, improving information technology policy and process development, and; defining procedures for post-implementation support.


Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.?

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of the announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level.

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • This position requires pre-employment and periodic counter-intelligence polygraph exams.

  • This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
