Summary

You will serve as a GG-0185-13 Supervisory Social Worker at the Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX in Fort Meade, MD. As the Fleet and Family Support Center Counseling and Advocacy Supervisor, you will provide leadership, direction, supervision, consultation, assistance, and coordination for all aspects of the Counseling and Advocacy Program, the Non-Medical Counseling Program, Family Advocacy Program, and the New Parent Support Home Visitation Program.

Duties

Help
  • You will provide leadership, direction, supervision, consultation, assistance, and coordination for all aspects of programs for Counseling and Advocacy, Non-Medical Counseling, Family Advocacy, and New Parent Support Home Visitation.
  • You will apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, directives, and instructions governing child and spouse abuse and family violence issues.
  • You will plan, assign, and provide expert-level supervision to professional Counseling and Advocacy Program (CAP) staff within the Fleet and Family Support Center.
  • You will complete quarterly quality assurance reports and analyze trends and outcomes.
  • You will review and evaluate CAP program areas and identify gaps in services and administrative procedures to provide results and recommendations for improving programs and offsetting negative trends.
  • You will advise and provide guidance to clinical providers on risk assessment and case management services and other therapeutic interventions for high-risk clients.
  • You will attend, coordinate, or assist in coordinating various meetings and committees as the CAP expert-level representative, to include the installation Incident Determination Committee and the quarterly installation Family Advocacy Committee.

  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Must meet all qualifications outlined in the current SECNAVINST 1754.8 for degree, licensure, and experience.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience, such as:

1. Provide mastery level management, oversight and supervision of all counseling and advocacy programs and staff.
2. Recognize, identify and assess mental disorders per the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, to include crisis situations, and apply various counseling approaches.
3. Perform family advocacy case management to include receiving reports of child or domestic abuse and neglect.
4. Develop and conduct training on matters related to domestic violence and behavioral health.
5. Provide clinical guidance on risk assessment, case management services and other therapeutic interventions.

Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Tier III shall shall meet the following requirements:

Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree;

OR

Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree;

OR

Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree;

OR

Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a 1-year APA accredited clinical internship;

AND

Licensure/certification by a state or U.S. territory that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology;

AND

Two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification.
