Duties

Help

  • Instruct, analyze, evaluate and qualify AMLO candidates through the application of Air Force mobility rated aviator and real world AMLO experience.
  • Represents the 435 TRS, in coordination with the Air Mobility Command (AMC) Command and Control (C2) and Ground Operations Division (A34) in a variety of functional areas.
  • Develops, updates and improves AMLO Qualification Course curriculum.
  • Analyzes and evaluates training issues to plan and coordinate proposed changes to curriculum.

  • Mobility Rated flying officer required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
  • AMLO assignment embedded within the Army or Marines required. Since AMLOs coming from PACAF AMLO billets aren’t utilized the same as all other AMC AMLOs, they will not be considered.
  • Deployed AMLO experience highly desired.
  • USA FORSCOM Joint Readiness Training Center, USA Warfighter Exercise, USA National Training Center Exercise or equivalent exercise experience desired.
  • Physical fitness commensurate with the conduct of deployed operations required.
  • If not previously certified as an instructor, then successful completion of the Instructor Methodology Course (IMC) or equivalent is required within twelve months of assignment as a condition of employment.
  • The employee may be required to operate and instruct in austere environments to observe current operations on the ground.
  • May be required to perform other duties as required by the Dean as they relate to USAF EOS and/or squadron operations, courses and USAF EC support.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Transportation Operations Series, 2150.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. In addition, specialized experience must demonstrate skill as an Air Mobility Liaison Officer (AMLO) experience within the last 4 years, having been embedded within the Army or Marines required in a non-PACAF AMLO assignment; USTRANSCOM mission operations, command organization, database, planning and support systems, command and control capabilities, mission planning tools and the work processes of associated air transportation programs as they are integrated and executed during daily operations.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of, and skill in applications of personal Air Mobility Liaison Officer (AMLO) experience in deployed and contingency environments as it applies to the assigned joint/coalition air transportation operations area.
  2. Knowledge of DOD, Joint, Air Force and air transportation operations policies, procedures, and programs as it applies to DOD, USTRANSCOM, regional COCOM, AMC, and applicable Army/USMC planning and C2 systems, specifically, JOPES, SMS, A2I, Matter most, and ITARS
  3. Knowledge of Defense Transportation System, Theater Air Ground System and Global Mobility Air and Space Operations Center principles, operational concepts, procedures, and guidelines.
  4. Knowledge of and skill in Drop Zone/Landing Zone Operations, Drop Zone Control, Survey and Landing Zone Safety Operations.
  5. Knowledge of, and skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques to develop self-contained training courses, obtain training resources and assess overall effectiveness to meet identified training requirements.
  6. Knowledge of Air Force training management systems is desired, including learning management systems for both resident and distant learning course.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
