Duties

Help
  • You will develop and lead technical products using advanced mathematical, statistical, or analytical techniques with Python, R, or SQL, to include the research, design, development, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise-wide analytics solutions
  • You will design, build, integrate, and manage the architecture or framework used in various data science projects to maintain flow of data between servers and applications.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert for data analytics as it pertains to both predictive and prescriptive analysis and ensure alignment with Fleet and Readiness Analytics Division initiatives.
  • You will develop and lead technical products using advanced programming techniques with JavaScript, Python, or frameworks like React, Angular, or AWS to research, design, develop, deploy, and enhance enterprise-wide web solutions.
  • You will design, build, integrate, and manage the architecture or framework used in various web development projects to ensure seamless interaction between front-end and back-end systems.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert for web application development as it pertains to both user experience (UX) and performance optimization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and initiatives.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Applicants must have specialized experience in either data engineering, web application development, or both, as demonstrated by the following qualifications:

Data Engineer:

  1. Experience in data engineering using Python, SQL, and/or Spark for data processing and transformation
  2. Experience building and integrating with data pipelines and ETL processes to support backend data services
  3. Familiarity with modern data engineering best practices, including data modeling, performance optimization, and scalable architecture design
  4. Strong experience with SQL and working with structured and semi-structured data in relational and NoSQL databases
  5. Exposure to cloud environments (i.e. AWS, Azure) and their data services (i.e. Amazon SageMaker, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Table Storage)
  6. Analyzing large datasets to solve complex data problems and providing actionable insights to support frequent requests from senior leadership
Web Application Developer:
  1. Experience in web development using JavaScript/TypeScript, and/or REACT
  2. Experience building and integrating with REST APIs and backend services
  3. Familiarity with modern front-end best practices, performance optimization, and responsive design
  4. Strong experience with SQL and working with structured data
  5. Exposure to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  6. Analyzing data to solve complex problems and run frequent excursion requests from senior leadership

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
