JOB TITLE:        Marketing Specialist Supervisor
BUSINESS TITLE:  Marketing Accounts & Distribution Manager

INTRODUCTION: 
The Marketing Accounts & Distribution Manager leads a team of Account Executives supporting MCCS programs across Okinawa, mainland Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Guam. Responsible for developing and executing cost-effective marketing strategies and campaigns that increase awareness, drive participation, and generate revenue. Ensures marketing operations evolve with emerging technologies and maintains strong client relationships through clear, consistent communication.

Additionally, the manager oversees a team of Distribution Coordinators responsible for the delivery and display of key print publications, including Okinawa Living Magazine, Okinawa Guide, lobby posters, banners, and other promotional materials. The team also monitors publication pick-up rates, manages distribution points, and performs related logistical duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Directs the planning and execution of strategic marketing initiatives aligned with program goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborates with internal creative and technical teams to produce marketing materials across diverse media and markets.
  • Continuously adapts marketing operations to incorporate new technologies and industry best practices.
  • Oversees promotional activities including exhibits, brochures, posters, advertisements, press releases, signage, and digital media.
  • Ensures all marketing collateral adheres to branding guidelines, maintains accuracy, and follows proper formatting standards.
  • Provides ROI analysis to support the Commercial Sponsorship team in evaluating sponsor impact.
  • Manages the distribution of print publications and promotional materials, ensuring timely and effective delivery across all regions.
  • Serves as an alternate media liaison, coordinating with COMMSTRAT, AFN Okinawa, Stars and Stripes, and other media outlets.
  •  Oversees fiscal and administrative functions, including review and approval of Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) calls and NAF Purchase Card transactions.
  •  Maintains compliance with operating policies, procedures, and ensure accurate documentation and up-to-date standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Fosters a collaborative and high-performing team environment through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Sets clear performance expectations, conduct evaluations, address conduct or performance issues, and ensure compliance with NAF and IHA/MLC personnel policies.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  

Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program.  Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly.  Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment.  Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office.  Ensures safety training is provided to employees.  Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions.  Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action.  Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return To Work¿ program initiatives, and following up on employee well being.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  1.  Bachelor¿s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Business, or related field; or five years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
  2. Strong project management and budget planning skills; ability to oversee multiple complex projects.
  3. Expertise in marketing planning and strategy, demographics, and publishing.
  4. Familiarity with host-nation business practices and vendors, as well as military communities and MCCS programs.
  5. Knowledge of government contract regulations and legal aspects of contract management.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SharePoint and related cloud platform experience preferred.
