Under direction of the Special Events Manager, responsible for overseeing the operation, supervision and administration of the MCCS Special Events Warehouse across multiple locations, including Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Barstow, and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma. Responsibilities include execution of special events across MCB Camp Pendleton, MCLB Barstow, and MCAS Yuma, storage and maintenance of equipment, and receiving shipments. Ensure that all items received are processed in a timely manner to ensure accountability for fixed assets.  Ensure that all prepaid supplies are properly marked and warehoused. Maintains proper accountability of all Special Events¿ warehousing with data on all property.  Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials with docking area in accordance with priorities, scheduling requirements, and space allocations. Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers as well as hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies and electric lifts. Responsible for the upkeep of the department¿s vehicle fleet, including routine cleaning and coordination of scheduled maintenance and service appointments.

Responsible for setting up and tearing down event venues with special events team and Marine volunteers. Must conduct walk through of venue prior to event setup to ensure proper placement of equipment. Attend weekly meetings with marketing division for upcoming events. Before events, load and transport all equipment in a safe and timely manner using a 30-foot enclosed trailer with an approximate gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 13,300lbs. vehicle towing capacity. After events, unload trailers and properly returns all equipment to the warehouse in an organized and timely manner. Set up canopies of various sizes from 10¿x10¿ to a 40¿x 80¿ in a safe and timely manner.  Ensure warehouse equipment to be operable at all times.

Responsible for supervision and work performance of subordinate staff to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees, approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews, signing timecards, and training employees.  Operate stake trucks, platform trucks, van trucks, passenger and cargo vans which typically have an approximate GVW of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Must meet all certification and licensing requirements, in garrison and on public road access.  Will oversee the facility Safety and Fire Warden program under the direction of the Marketing Director.  Maintains and enforces security of merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.  Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Must have three years¿ experience in all phases of warehousing and distribution methods, property, inventory, stock control procedures and proper disposal methods.  Must be skilled in all phases of warehouse receiving, storing, policies, and procedures. Must have ability to motivate, deal effectively with and supervise subordinate staff.  Knowledge of Federal procurement accounting procedures and safety practices is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required. A current driver¿s license is required. Must be able to travel to regional Marine Corps installations to support special events. Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometime uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license within 60 days of hire with successful completion of training and evaluations specified by OSHA.
