If selected, you will serve as a Supervisory Attorney Adviser (Office Chief), SK-0905-17 responsible for a broad range of assignments in the Division of Corporation Finance's Office of Structured Finance (OSF) in Washington, DC.
The Office of Structured Finance (OSF) reviews filings made under the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and provides public guidance to enhance compliance with the offering and disclosure requirements that apply to asset-backed securities, including Regulation AB, Regulation RR, and other rules under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Typical Duties Include:
Serving as legal adviser and counselor to key executives within the SEC on matters involving the specialized registration, disclosure, and reporting requirements that apply to issuers of asset-backed securities.
Performing extensive and often complex review(s) of statutes, regulations, and disclosure documents related to structured finance products.
Providing interpretive guidance related to the rules governing asset-backed securities, including through no-action letters, interpretive letters, and responses to public inquiries.
Participating in the formulation and drafting of new or revised policies and programs and recommends the adoption of new and revised forms, rules, and regulations under the statutes administered by the SEC.
Overseeing and manages special projects including rulemaking initiatives; manages information flow and communicates with other Division and Office staff to ensure implementation of Division policies and priorities.
Performing the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
You must possess a J.D. or LL.B Degree and you must be an active member of the bar in good standing.
This position is open to current, SEC employees within the Division of Corporation Finance.

Qualifications

SK-17: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level. Specialized experience also includes:

Preparing and drafting rules, regulations and forms under federal securities laws.
