Duties

Help

  • Coordinate with functional and program specialists (supply, production, inventory management, procurement, maintenance, transportation, training, and funding) to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of case requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive logistics support in overseas locations, including coordinating FMS activities with functional specialists.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the U.S. government, American Embassy, foreign customer officers, and other DoD components/commands.
  • Assess the impact of changes in technical requirements, documentation, training, schedules, or new equipment.
  • Monitor Due in for Maintenance (DIFM)/MICAP aircraft parts and high visibility assets throughout the repair cycle. Provide shipping/transportation data and ensure accurate delivery of parts and equipment.

  • Riyadh/Dhahran, Saudi Arabia member may serve an unaccompanied tour (12 months) or an accompanied tour (24 months). Overseas tour can be extended until the 5 year mark.

  • The incumbent must possess the ability to negotiate controversial and complex matters with high-level officials of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), contractors, USAF and DoD personnel

  • Employees and family members requiring medical/dental care in the overseas location are responsible for obtaining/paying for care. Access for these members to military medical/dental treatment facilities is on space-available/reimbursable basis only.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.
  • May be eligible for General Overseas Allowances and Differentials.
  • Diplomatic and/or Official passport and visa for travel to foreign countries is required.
  • The duty location for this position can be either Riyadh or Dharan, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given them the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, one year of the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level NH-02, GS-11 or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve logistics problems; and/or plan, analyze and coordinate a system's acquisition into operational use.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of basic theories and principles of systems design, specifications development techniques; and an understanding of acquisition and maintenance requirements as well as organizational functions involved in logistical support.
2. Knowledge of theories and principles of Foreign Military Sales development and execution, and the Security Assistance Program and policy.
3. Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, and acquisition.
4. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services needed to support the program.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date. Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave.
