The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick Space Force Base, FL is searching for a Director for the Program Management Division that supports SLD45/PM (NH-1101-04, GS-14/15 equivalent).

The United States Space Force (USSF) seeks a visionary and senior leader to serve as the Director of the Program Management Division for Space Launch Delta 45. This pivotal role is at the heart of ensuring continuous space superiority and national security. As the central figure orchestrating a vast and complex enterprise, you will drive mission execution and shape the future of space operations. Stationed at the epicenter of global technological advancement at Patrick Space Force Base, you will lead a dynamic team of space professionals dedicated to our nation's most critical space endeavors.

Description of Position: Are you ready to lead the charge in advancing key Space Force programs of national significance? As the Director, you will exercise significant delegated authority for planning, directing, and executing the activities of the Program Management Division, a multi-disciplinary team of over 30 military, civilian, and contractor personnel.

Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of over 30 military, civilian, and contractor personnel assigned to major program segments of national scope and significance.
  • Establish strategic goals and objectives that integrate organizational and acquisition management priorities, providing authoritative advice to senior leadership.
  • Direct, integrate, and execute all aspects of assigned program segments, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, performance, and system supportability requirements.
  • Make comprehensive assessments and evaluations of program goals, providing long-range planning to enhance organizational and management capabilities.
  • Leverage a mastery of acquisition policies, regulations, and laws to lead significant organizational changes, influence policy, and implement reform initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at executive levels in engagements with U.S. Government leaders, international partners, and senior industry representatives.
  • Inspire, motivate, and guide a diverse staff toward mission accomplishment through effective coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Skillfully plan and direct the critical functions of development, production, and support for complex systems, ensuring seamless coordination across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.



Knowledge and skills for the position:
  • Senior-Level Program Management: Extensive experience leading multi-agency and multi-disciplinary efforts to solve complex problems within the aerospace or defense sectors, with a mastery of acquisition policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Supervisory Leadership and Mentorship: A results-oriented leader with a proven ability to build and empower high-performing teams to exceed organizational goals. Expertly leverages targeted coaching, mentorship, and continuous feedback to foster professional growth, optimize team performance, and develop a resilient, agile workforce prepared to meet complex and evolving mission demands.
  • Acquisition Expertise: A strong, demonstrated understanding of acquisition policies, procedures, and methodologies, with the ability to provide authoritative advice and guidance to senior management on complex procurement issues.
  • Executive Communication and Leadership: Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with technical accuracy. Excellent leadership and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or higher is highly preferred.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS funding is authorized.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
  • Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
  • This position is designated a NON-CRITICAL APDP position.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP).
  • Employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the position.
  • Employee is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements.
  • This position is designated a CRITICAL APDP position.
  • This is a Key position. Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
