Duties

Help
  • Serves as the S-8 Budget Officer for the assigned Recruiting Brigade (BDE), for the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC).
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the budgetary functions of the BDE and its associated Battalions (BNs).
  • Develops, justifies, and executes budget based upon program plans, available resources, and sound knowledge of operational requirements, mission, and expenses required
  • Budget work supports the total BDE/BN programs and mission.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Financial Management Certification Level 2 required in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F - Financial Management, Section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, Section 1599d.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • You may be required to complete a Supervisory Probationary Period.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide range of analytical and technical advisory functions related to the budgetary process such as, but not limited to, performing budget adjustments, determining appropriations to be charged, and/or ensuring budget submissions meet requirements, guidelines, and management objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
