This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Patient Care Models Group (PCMG).

As a Technical Advisor, GS-0301-14, you will be responsible for the development and/or review of comprehensive health care policies, concepts, designs, and proposals for new alternative payment models and initiatives, particularly in the area of specialty care.

Help
  • Provide management, policy, and program advice to senior leadership on complex health care.
  • Lead policy analyses with broad system-wide impact on specialty care and payment model policy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Medicare payment policy, deigns, payment structures and risk arrangements.
  • Design analytic frameworks for evaluating payment models.
  • Brief senior leadership and congressional audiences on complex topics.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Providing technical guidance or analysis on payment model approaches; AND
2) Directing or leading quantitative data analyses (i.e. statistical, econometric, financial, etc.) related to healthcare payment models; AND
3) Leading the development or implementation of policies or projects focused on payment and incentives.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
