About the Position: Serves as the Battalion Mission Support Specialist, under the general supervision of the BN Executive Director, providing administrative support to the Battalion Commander and staff. Performs a wide variety of management and administrative services for the Battalion Commander essential to the operations of the geographically dispersed Battalion. Located in San Diego, CA.

This is a permanent position.

Help
  • Responsible for all aspects of human resources related to civilian and military personnel management in the battalion.
  • Review policies and provide guidance to subordinate units.
  • Responsible for unit tasking management and ensures all suspense's and requirements are met.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: Collecting or gathering information for reporting purposes; Providing guidance and technical support to management in a variety of mission support areas.; Assisting with reconciling conflicting incomplete information, maintain files and preparing monthly reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: advising management on assigned administrative matters; coordinating, monitoring, and performing administrative projects for an organization such as budget, personnel, travel, training, etc.; Lead personnel policy and practices for an organization; Advise leadership on available courses of action for resolving issues; preparing narrative and data reports, represents the organization at meetings and/or conferences. This definition
of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07/09).
