You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (HAZARDOUS MATERIAL DISPOSER) in the Environmental Compliance Division, Environmental Affairs Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER.

Duties

Help
  • You will operate oil collection trucks and associated pumps, tanks, controls and safety devices, and forklifts.
  • You will operate stationary and portable pumps and skimming equipment.
  • You will operate metering and measuring devices and sampling and testing equipment.
  • You will operate vehicles, including stake bed trucks, vacuum and tractor trailer trucks.
  • You will perform weekly inspections on the used oil collection points.
  • You will assist in the packaging, labeling, and maintenance of containers of waste stored in the facility.
  • You will assist in maintain general housekeeping standards for the facility
  • You will assist in containment and clean-up of hazardous substance spills.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to possess, obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. NOTE: failure to provide license will result in automatic disqualification of this position.
  • You will be required to possess, obtain and maintain a current Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Tank Vehicle/Hazardous Materials Combination "X" endorsement license.
  • You will be required to possess, obtain and maintain a Forklift operator's license.
  • You will be required to posses, obtain and maintain a government vehicle operator's license for vehicles up to 5 tons.
  • This position is subject to recall for emergencies directed by the supervisor.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION including responding to emergency spills; performing chemical testing; operating hazardous waste transport vehicles; and loading and securing hazardous waste for transport.
