Duties

Help
  • Mows grass, lays sod, weeds flowerbeds, trims and edges walkways and lawns. Prunes shrubs and trees; applies fertilizer, waters plants, cleans out drainage ditches, shovels snow from walks and driveways.
  • Loads and unloads conveyances; moves materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials. Cleans rugs and drapes.
  • Digs, fills and tamps soil and gravel in earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake. Cleans, waxes and polishes floors using heavy industrial-powered equipment. Adjusts, cleans, oils and changes attachments on machines.
  • Washes and replaces room fixtures using ladders and scaffolds. Uses chemicals and cleaning solutions. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and implements used. Notifies supervisor when additional materials are needed.
  • Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must also be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.

Qualifications

Three (3) month of laboring experience required. Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned.

Allowances and Differentials

  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, post allowance, and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.

United States Army Installation Management Command

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is in the Commuting Area of Camp Casey only(Spouse Employment Preference (SEP) and Family Member Preference (FMP) eligible candidates are included in the Area of Consideration).

This position is normally designated for LN occupancy. Family members hired for LN designated position may be separated or reassigned if appointment or placement of a Local National employee to the position becomes necessary. The Selected applicant will have no rights under reduction in force and will be subject to displacement under a local national reduction in force.

Camp Casey spans 3,500 acres and is located within a valley, 11 miles (20 km) south of the Demilitarized Zone in the village of Dongducheon and about 40 miles north of Seoul, South Korea. The Kwangju Mountain Range, an offshoot of the Taebaek Mountains, extends southwest to include the mountains around Seoul. This range separates the Paju plain in the Imjin drainage from the Han. The majority of the mountain tops in this region are less than 4,900 feet (1,500 meters). Tobong, Soyo and Surak Mountains are all in the area, as is the Songdu Resort. Also, there are many parks, resorts, historical sites and entertainment areas in Korea. Because of the country's size and excellent transportation system, all these sites are within a day's travel from anywhere in the Division area.
