Help

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Serves as the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine primary Automated Data Processing
    Application Coordinator (ADPAC)
  • Coordinates in-service training activities, develops training plans, provides guides and
    maintains records of training activities; determines the methodology for identified training
    needs and schedules such accordingly
  • Manages purchase requests as a fund control point official
  • Provides service line support as an application coordinator and provide support for software
    packages used by radiology clinicians and support staff
  • Performs timekeeping duties for the service utilizing VA time keeping software
  • Prepares work schedules, priorities, and deadlines, including coverage of holidays, on-call,
    stand-by, weekend and scheduled overtime for professional, technical and clerical
    employees, through the usage of software applications
  • Monitors and audits data entered by Radiology and other services at each division,
    identifying erroneous data entry and/or procedural problems, and notifying the appropriate
    staff for correction or remediation
  • Submits Human Resources(HR) and Office of Information Technology (OI&T) requests to
    add, re-activate or change staff access to VA systems, for new Technologists, students and
    medical center employees for the Radiology package and PACS
  • Implements customer service principles, understanding patient rights and responsibilities,
    service recovery, and has the ability to interact with tact and diplomacy during all customer
    interactions
  • Demonstrates ability to complete projects on schedule, is self-directed and able to work with
    minimal supervision and as a team member
  • Sponsors Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Personal Identification Verification Cards
  • Interacts with customers with a diverse and varied background in person, via telephone, email,
    or other correspondence
  • Utilizes computer hardware and software to create reports and spreadsheets, generating
    reports and pulling data from various sources
  • Pulls data and compiles into meaningful and concise reports
  • Organizes and maintains records in support of activities associated with environment and
    facilities management
  • Provides programmatic support in key areas to include clinic setup and maintenance, data
    mining and reporting, and support related to space and equipment

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/02/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

  • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-9 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical service programs, operations, objectives, and policies along with a comprehensive knowledge of management and organizational techniques, systems, and procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a full range of management improvement methodologies and techniques including systems/procedures analysis, cost benefit studies, work measurement, planning, and control techniques, qualitative analysis, flow diagrams, and surveys and questionnaires.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices as they apply specifically to healthcare.
  • Knowledge of patient rights and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of effective conflict resolution and customer recovery principles.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques and assessment tools for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs, along with knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of Service programs, processes and operations.

  • Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. in a field related to this position.

  • Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond ???????graduate level education (in excess of the first two years or 36 semester hours) and specialized experience to meet total experience requirements..

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to commute to work daily, be physically able to ride long distances while traveling to all Lexington VA Healthcare System facilities, and the ability to be in a seated position at a workstation for long periods of time. The incumbent will be required to routinely walk long distances throughout the facility and must by capable of occasionally lifting 25 pounds or less.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
