Duties

Help
  • You will review service requests from supported customers, developing plans to support user telecommunications requirements.
  • You will respond to customer requests for technical assistance via phone or email, providing problem resolution or opening tickets for resolution with the appropriate agency.
  • You will review requests for telecommunication services to set priorities and coordinate the allocation of resources to implement.
  • You will investigate and analyze a variety of unusual telecommunications problems, answering customer questions, and coordinating restoral efforts with appropriate maintenance personnel.
  • You will assist customers with Hardware and Software supporting Network Services, Land Mobile Radio Systems, Electronic Security systems, VHF/UHF radio systems.
  • You will provide a broad and diverse background, to include experience in assisting customers with supporting audio-visual equipment, and other similar or related telecommunications equipment and services.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting customers with Hardware and Software supporting Network Services, Land Mobile Radio Systems, Electronic Security systems, VHF/UHF radio systems, Audio-visual equipment, and other similar or related telecommunications equipment and services; 2) Utilizing knowledge of established techniques to perform basic fact-finding and analysis to identify and resolve service affecting system issues; 3) Preparing, reviewing, and presenting presentations and briefings in support of telecommunication policies, projects and issues.

Education

Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
