As a Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN) - DIRECT HIRE GS-2210-13, Some of the duties of your position will include:

  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
  • Maintaining systems configuration and server resources to ensure performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Deploying virtual machines into virtual networks in a cloud platform (preferably Azure) and configuring them for optimum cost, performance, and security.
  • Maintaining baseline system security according to Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain administrative automations and system tools using PowerShell scripting.
  • Manage mobile and workstation environments using Microsoft Intune for configuration, compliance, and application deployment.
  • Managing Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Microsoft 365, to monitor and mitigate security risks.
  • Support cloud infrastructure and identity management within Microsoft Azure, including conditional access, security baselines, and resource administration.

Qualifications

Applicants qualify for this position if they meet the minimum qualification of performing at least one year of demonstrated specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal government:

  • Supporting Azure and M365 cloud services and identity management.
  • Administering Intune for device configuration and compliance.
  • Providing technical support and configuration for Crestron or similar A/V systems.
  • Developing or maintaining PowerShell scripts to automate IT tasks.
  • Administering Meraki WiFi networks or comparable cloud-managed networking tools.
  • Supporting cybersecurity operations with platforms such as Qualys, CrowdStrike, Lookout, or similar tools.
  • Working within a small or micro federal agency, requiring multi-role responsibilities, adaptability, and independent problem-solving.
Applicants will also be assessed on their IT related experience as it relates to each of the five competencies listed below.
