Duties

Help
  • Leads other team members in analysis of current and emerging policy, guidance, strategy, agreements, and doctrine both national and international to determine existing U.S. national security, military, and political interests and objectives.
  • Consults and coordinates with a well-established network of colleagues within and outside the Command to gain better understanding of such issues, including understanding full effects changes may have on partners’ planning.
  • Leads team members in applying a variety of analytical techniques and approaches to formulate and solve problems.
  • Leads and contributes to after-action analysis to measure and determine the relative success of elements in anticipating/identifying threats to national defense-critical assets.
  • Identifies particular issues that could affect existing cyberspace TCSPs and other emerging cyberspace scenarios and adversary threats that have not yet been addressed in plans.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • The employee may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Employee must pass initial and periodic random drug testing.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Analyzing policies and agreements to ensure alignment with national security, military, and political interests; 2) Reviewing planning documents such as policy statements, agreements, or doctrines for accuracy; 3) Performing after-actions analysis of security plans to determine the effectiveness; 4) Identifying issues that could affect current or future cyberspace security plans.
