Summary

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Delta Breeze Event Center on Travis Air Force Base, CA.

Physical Effort: Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing more than 20 pounds with assistance.

Eligible to use base facilities such as: Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center.

Duties

Help

  • Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, tablecloths/table skirts, condiments, and cold menu items (e.g., salad, dessert, bread, and cold beverages) on tables and or serving/buffet line.
  • Removes glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, tablecloths, and table skirts from tables.
  • Operates, breaks down and cleans all electrical equipment for food preparation. Cleans kitchen equipment and cookware (e.g., worktables, pots and pans, chaffing dishes, sinks and refrigerators).
  • Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses and silverware, chaffing dishes, and cookware in dishwashing area. Loads and operates dishwashers, stores clean dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils and cookware.
  • Washes tables and counters, vacuums, and shampoos carpets.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, cleans windows, washes walls and cleans and sanitizes trashcans.
  • Sorts, washes, peels and cuts fresh fruits and vegetables.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Ability to read and understand written material and be able to follow simple oral instructions. Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines. Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally over 20 pounds with assistance. Ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push and bend for long periods of time.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
