Duties

Help
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and review new policy and legislative initiatives for potential impact to the office.
  • Serve as a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator to track and handle external communications with requestors on the final disposition of their cases.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets to include: reviewing, controlling, assigning, adjusting and reassigning money and materials to meet the office changing priorities and needs.
  • Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on contracts formulating contracting strategies, preparation of procurement packages and development of statements of work (SOW).
  • Collaborate with top management officials and other Federal agency contacts to address small business concerns.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 position, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
- Evaluating organizational processes and procedures to develop management studies, analyses, or recommendations that enhance organizational effectiveness, and
- Coordinating between internal and external stakeholders for public inquiries or routine requests using internal tracking systems to ensure timely, legally compliant responses, and
- Managing operational program budgets, fund allocations, expenditures, or routine financial reporting to support decision-making, and
- Executing acquisition activities such as contract procurements or interagency agreements to ensure compliance with federal procurement and financial regulations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
