Duties

Help

As a Traffic Management Specialist, GS-2130-11 you will serve as the Command Transportation Officer and represents the Director of Logistics on transportation matters involving movement of personnel, equipment and supplies, both domestically and internationally. Serves as principal representative for military transportation matters and for planning and executing unit movements. Directs, oversees and provides technical guidance for preparation, maintenance and execution of movement plans for mobilization and deployment. Coordinates surface and air movements with appropriate DOD, federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinates commercial requirements with the Traffic Management Office as needed for commercial transportation. Ensures requirements necessary to execute the plans have been identified and coordinated. Ensures proper handling of special and unique movement requirements. Uses and interprets U.S. Forces Command (FORSCOM) and Armyregulations, technical manuals, traffic bulletins/regulations, federal and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 87 and the President is Mr. Michael Ortmayer at actch87@gmail.com.

MILITARY GRADES: W01 thru O4

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training performing, administering or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States).

Education

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if relatedNone1 year equivalent to at least GS-9
