Duties

  • You will manage day-to-day operations of the Project Management Support Group.
  • You will brief senior leadership on project management activity status.
  • You will document project risks and changes sufficiently for leadership to make associated decisions.
  • You will monitor compliance with project management standards, procedures, and templates.
  • You will coach and advise the organization on effective project management practices and provide recommendations on appropriate training for the organization.
  • You will supervise and manage a division comprised of direct-report mid-level civilian employees.
  • You will exercise full authority to make changes in the organization of work and prioritization of division resources to achieve efficient and economical operations.
  • You will participate in senior-level, operationally oriented meetings as an authoritative representative of Program Office management and the Department of Defense.
  • You will be responsible for directing, planning, conducting and carrying out all programs within the Project Management Support Group Division.

  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring proposed and approved projects meet prioritization criteria; 2) Documenting project performance, cost and schedules; 3) Presenting analytic research to assist with project initiatives and future investments; 4) Recognizing problems and developing recommendations on resource allocation based on project status and other influencing factors. 5) Expressing information orally and in writing, leading meetings, and providing briefings to Senior Executives, Flag Officers or Generals.
