The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in Boulder, Colorado is searching for an Acquisition Program Manager for SYD 84 (NH-1101-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
The Acquisition Program Manager for the BGIF & TAP Lab is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing the execution of mission activities across a workforce of 100+ personnel. The BGIF/TAP Lab staff includes a diverse mix of Government Civilians, Military members, Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) personnel, System Engineering and Integration (SE&I), System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA), and support services contractors.

This position encompasses two distinct role emphases aligned to the missions of the BGIF and the TAP Lab. While core leadership, acquisition, and workforce management responsibilities are common across both, the focus areas and required expertise differ:

BGIF-Focused Role (Infrastructure & Contractual Oversight): This role emphasizes contractual and operational oversight of infrastructure and facilities activities. The Acquisition Program Manager leads and manages personnel responsible for day-to-day facility operations, infrastructure sustainment, and contractor performance, ensuring mission continuity and compliance. This role carries significant responsibility for serving as a Contractor Officer's Representative (COR), providing oversight of $100M+ in support services contracts that enable BGIF operations in support of RDT&E execution.
TAP Lab-Focused Role (RDT&E & Technical Program Management):

This role emphasizes research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) efforts with a strong technical orientation. The Acquisition Program Manager oversees multidisciplinary technical teams, manages advanced development programs, and supports AI/ML and emerging technology initiatives. This role requires hands-on familiarity with technical program execution, coordination across government and contractor teams, and leadership of both personnel and complex development efforts.

Candidates will be considered for one or both roles based on background, experience, and mission needs. Regardless of assignment, the Acquisition Program Manager is expected to provide leadership, ensure effective acquisition and contract execution, and enable the successful delivery of BGIF and TAP Lab mission objectives.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within integrated product teams composed of highly diverse and technically sophisticated subject matter experts. A background in acquisition and business management is desirable, particularly experience supporting or executing multi-million-dollar projects in a high-performing, innovative environment. Candidates should possess either a strong business operations background or a solid technical foundation appropriate to mission needs. This position offers an opportunity to apply project management principles and training while gaining hands-on experience managing cost, schedule, and performance across mission-critical technology RDT&E efforts.
