Responsible for management and administration of the Golf Course Snack Bar. Plans, directs, and supervises subordinate staff in the activities of a resale food operation, to ensure high standards of food and beverage program. Responsible for all food production. Responsible for workforce management, employee motivation and training to ensure the request and needs of the customers are consistently exceeded. Responsible for staffing and food preparations for snack bar. Assures proper preparation and presentation of a wide variety of foods. Checks food during and after preparation for conformance with standards of quality and to prevent spoilage or pilferage. Plans and implements budgets. Takes corrective action as necessary to ensure that all sales and cost goals are attained. Ensures that all standard operating procedures for sales and internal cost controls are in place and consistently utilized Manages the staff mg needs. Researches and develops new menus and products for cost/profit benefits. Orders and receives supplies via automated system. Continually works to ensure correct handling to minimize food waste (portion control). Supervises staff on proper sanitation practices and ensures compliance with current hospital guidelines. Responsible for all arrangements for catering activities (i.e., banquets, parties, receptions, luncheons, and other special activities) requiring food and beverage serve catered by the Golf Course, as authorized by policy, regulations, and guidelines. Obtains pertinent information from member host, such as number of guests expected, seating arrangements, decorations, and music and entertainment desired. Performs other related duties as assigned. Analyzes the requirements of the occasion and decides on suitable types of services to be provided; discusses menu and beverage items and prices to be charged. Draws up party contract and obtains member's signature. Transmits information to other personnel concerned with party activities; table/furniture set-ups; arranges for items such as china, silverware, candles, and glasses. Inspects final arrangements for the party to ensure that all contractual arrangements are met insofar as the Golf Course is concerned; greets host and hostess; sets up receiving line if desired; observes the party in operation to ensure service provided is efficient, courteous and correct from both etiquette and contractual terms. Maintains the party reservation book and party contracts. Plans special membership affairs; plans menus; accepts reservations; observes and supervises party in progress. Position is a position of trust.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have at least six months experience in managing a food and beverage outlet to include, cooking, costing and planning, budgeting, and personnel management. Must have experience in and knowledge of food preparation principles and characteristics of food and of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared and cooked on time. Must have knowledge of procedures to order, issue and store food. In addition, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan and organize social functions is desirable. Must have experience in computing budget and marketing development and analysis, cost of sales, break-even analysis and labor management.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
