Duties

Help

  • Inventory base warehouses and all Integrated Logistics System (ILSS) accountable assets to provide for the economical and efficient stewardship of DoD and Air Force supply system materiel.
  • Manage the semi-annual Communication Security/Controlled Cryptographic Item (COMSEC/CCI), annual weapons reconciliation and NWRM Inventories.
  • Represents the Physical Inventory Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
  • Perform causative research and resolve all inventory discrepancies. Conduct inventory analysis/research in an effort to identify root causes, trends of inventory discrepancies/adjustments and recommend corrective actions to mitigate further out-of-balance conditions.

  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
  • This position is a "Key" position. It cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without impairing the capability of the organization to- function effectively. Unless an alternate can be designated to perform the duties of this position during wartime, the incumbent of this "Key" position must be screened from military recall status.
  • This is a Financial Management Level (1, 2, or 3) Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Quality Assurance Series, 1910

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of general experience at the next lower broadband (NH-1), equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-04) or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience includes broad technical knowledge of supply operations, supply programs, inventory management, storage and distribution, skill in use of technical orders, stock lists, cataloging data systems, federal and military supply standards and specifications. Broad technical knowledge of policies and procedures for physical inventory of supplies and equipment as well as knowledge of warehousing procedures and plans. Knowledge of supply structure, supply codes, and organizational interfaces both internal and external, and the ability to update procedures and use automated supply systems and data bases. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions and inspection practices, procedures, and principles related to a wide range of supplies and equipment items, technical components, parts and commodities, ability to analyze problems and develop timely/economical solutions to problems encountered. Knowledge of the identification, storage, handling, and reporting procedures of controlled and hazardous material, to include Nuclear Weapons Related Material. Knowledge of policies, methods and procedures for material identification, type classification, serviceability, and approval for use; knowledge of procedures, supply catalogs, technical manuals, and equipment drawings required for product and equipment verification.

4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: YOU MUST A SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Broad technical knowledge of supply operations, supply programs, inventory management, storage and
distribution, skill in use of technical orders, stock lists, cataloging data systems, federal and military supply
standards and specifications.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

AcqDemo Expanded Probationary Period for Supervisors and Managers: An additional supervisory probationary period of one year may be required when an employee is officially assigned to a different supervisory position.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-2 equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-11.
