The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick Space Force Base, FL is searching for a Deputy Program Executive Officer for Assured Access to Space (NH-1101-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent).

As the AATS DPEO, executes a major program of national scope, interest, and significance or a major segment of a critical agency-wide program or programs within the SSC Enterprise through designated phases of the acquisition cycle to include research, development, test, acquisition and sustainment. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the program office, to include all geographically separated units (GSU). The assigned programs(s) is characterized by unusual managerial complexities and demands as well as substantial uncertainties and risk. The incumbent has responsibility for managing and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, civilian, and/or contractors, across several geographically separated locations, assigned to a major program of national scope, interest, and significance or a major segment of a critical agency-wide program or programs, as well as all participating organizations in planning, directing, integrating, and executing all aspects of the assigned programs and for achieving program cost, schedule, performance and/or system supportability requirements. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and acquisition management objectives.
Ideal Candidate:
Knowledge of policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.

This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
This position has been designated as an International Acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
This position is designated a CRITICAL APDP position.
