You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (PLCYPLN-INFOSEC), GS-2210-13 and be responsible for managing IT projects and products.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Administering Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online, including managing site content, structure, navigation, and designing solutions based on business requirements.
  • Managing Microsoft Teams licenses, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper user access and permissions for effective collaboration.
  • Managing Power Platform tools (Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI) to enable customers to develop and automate processes, create custom applications, and integrate with Microsoft 365 products to improve efficiency.
  • Staying abreast of developments and new applications of IT capabilities to make sound recommendations to facilitate upgrades and improvements to meet existing and emerging organizational requirements.
  • Reviewing or conducting audits of information technology (IT) programs and projects to ensure IT systems and products are functioning as designed and remain in compliance with applicable Federal government standards and regulations.
  • Serving as a primary stakeholder and Product Manager for assigned IT systems and products including operational processes and functions that support the systems and products to ensure established IT requirements and Key Performance Indicators are met.

Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.

A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.

B. DoW Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) qualification 802 IT Project Manager or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Specialized experience must include the following:

  • Leading diverse or cross-functional technical teams of Military, Civilian, and Contractors, managing workloads, setting priorities, and managing full lifecycle of projects and services.
  • Providing IT technical and functional support for applications such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365 or similar cloud applications such as Power platforms, and Teams.
  • IT experience in providing engineering, technical and functional support for on-premise IT applications.
  • Providing deep subject matter expertise used to advise leadership on the IT technical roadmap.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Student Loan -
Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year. More than one loan may be repaid if the combined repayments do not exceed $10,000. Receipt of this incentive will require a three-year service agreement.
