Incumbent will be required to wear chemical protective equipment, respirators, safety glasses, etc.
Pre-appointment and annual physical is required.
This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

Work Environment: Work is usually performed indoors, or outdoors in covered areas or passageways which provide some protection. Wears protective clothing as required including flameproof coveralls and cap, cotton underwear and socks, conductive sole shoes, non-pervious gloves, NIOSH approved full face chemical respirator with toxic dust filter. Is subject to exposure to fumes from acids, solvents, other industrial type chemicals and to explosions and flash fires. There is a chance of injuries ranging from loss of life to burns, cuts, bruises, sprains, and nausea. When monitoring production line operations subject to discomfort from standing and walking on concrete floors for long periods of time
