Duties

Help
  • Serves as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) within the Directorate of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C41) Systems, Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATFS), Truman Annex, Key West, FL.
  • Conduct information assurance activities on information systems such as application of security patches.
  • Provide technical expertise on system operations, hardware, and a wide variety of applications and programs.
  • Perform system administration duties on a large network of computers with wide area network access.
  • Install application software for maintenance of system configuration files.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug­ Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85. (See Additional Information section below).

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:

1. Identifying information technology security risks and vulnerabilities to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and/or data. AND
2. Applying standards, policies, and security procedures to information systems including risk assessment testing; application of security patches; and/or preparing reports of documented findings. AND
3. Performing system administration duties on a large network of computers with wide area network access such as installing application software for maintenance of system configuration files and applying integration of long-term information systems projects. AND
4. Utilizing, installing, and implementing computer application software for maintenance of system configuration files to include implementing computer diagnostic techniques and/or performance measurement tools, network monitoring software, and network addressing and configuration software.

In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
