Duties

Help

Works with Outdoor Recreation, Information Tickets and Travel management and/or Community Cohesion Coordinator to plan, organize, schedule, and execute a wide range of recreational programs, trips and classes that focus on Hill AFB community morale, enhancing resiliency, and/or building unit cohesion to increase lethality of the war-fighter. This position is provided guidance when performing new or complex duties. Routine work is performed independently. Routine work includes but is not limited to, planning and conducting recurring activities such as; alpine skiing, cross country/touring skiing, backpacking, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, rock climbing, hunting, fishing and other customer or management desired programs. Independently, serves as subject matter expert by demonstrating and instructing participants in the use of all outdoor activity equipment use and safety. Provides guidance and leadership for various recreation leisure activity programs. Performs a wide variety of administrative work such as preparing after action reports, receiving and responding to customer critiques, comments or complaints. Must be able to operate up to 5 passenger van and/or 10,000lb vehicle w trailer. May be required to provide additional outdoor recreation information and assistance to help patrons with selecting any furthering interests in additional recreational programs. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by program director.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Should have experience in implementing, evaluating adventure programs with a working familiarity and knowledge of the procedures followed in leading organizing group outdoor recreational activity programs. Highly preferred current certifications in recreational activities to include; alpine skiing. cross country touring skiing, backpacking, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, rock climbing, and hunting/fishing. Must be able to work both indoors/outdoors in various extreme weather conditions. Must maintain current CPR First Aid certifications. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance and pass pre-employment physical. Must possess valid driver's license with good driving record. This position is a drug tested position subjected to random drug testing. Must be able to work rotating tour of duty with different hours of the day, or different days of the week. Must satisfactorily complete National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
